Position Summary:
C.J. Mahan Construction Company is seeking a motivated Construction Engineer Intern to join our team for hands-on experience in construction project management and engineering. This internship provides an opportunity to work on real projects, develop key technical skills, and gain exposure to various aspects of construction engineering. Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, and coordination under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Support construction site inspections to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Prepare, review, and update project documentation, such as blueprints, drawings, and reports.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure that materials, resources, and schedules align with project timelines.
- Assist in conducting quantity take-offs, cost estimation, and budget tracking.
- Support senior engineers in identifying and resolving on-site challenges.
- Document project progress and report findings to the project manager.
Education and Experience:
- Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized, fully accredited program.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Familiar with ACI, AISC, AASHTO and ASCE
- Familiarity with Autodesk (e.g., AutoCAD) preferred; willingness to learn and use as needed.
- Familiar with RISA 3 Structural design software or similar structural design
- Good organization and time management
- Ability to coordinate with estimating and operations
