The Staff Accountant will be responsible for processing financial transactions, reconciling accounts, assisting with month-end close, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing variance analysis and insights. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently, follow established procedures, and maintain strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities :
Reconcile and code credit card expenses and gather information and receipts from card holders.
Maintain Daily Backorder reports and Daily Dashboard.
Enter various entries into Sage, including dropship, transportation, marketplace activities, and others.
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy.
Assist in preparing financial reports and month-end closing procedures.
Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation.
Support payroll processing and ensure compliance with company policies.
Assist with tax filings, audits, and other financial compliance tasks.
Perform variance analysis, creating templates, and providing insights.
Follow established accounting procedures and internal controls.
Provide support for additional accounting projects as needed.
All other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications :
Education : Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred, or equivalent related experience.
Experience : 2-3 years of accounting experience in a similar role.
Specific Skills : Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as invoice quantity and unit prices, and vendor discounts. Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting. Proficiency in accounting software. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies. Ability to work independently while following procedures and instructions. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, Etc. : Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications and accounts payable data entry. Experience with Sage accounting software is preferred.
