Job Summary: Manages fleet operations for Fuel South Express, Circle K’s proprietary fleet. The desired candidate will oversee the daily transport operational activity within the terminal areas of our Gulf Coast region which include Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Louisiana, Collins, Mississippi and future growth into Pensacola, Florida. The Regional Transportation Manager will first and foremost be responsible for Health and Safety issues related to drivers and fleet. The incumbent will be responsible for the line management of the transportation team, fleet and garage activities. Day to day work location may vary as needed due to observations/training and engagement with the wider Circle KFleet Organization. Essential Functions: Will proactively manage and takes responsibility for Health & Safety issues and ensure legal compliance for Internal Fleet within the Mid-Western United States Operational responsibility for the Hazmat tanker vehicle fleet, drivers and maintenance. Will be responsible for ensuring ELD hours are compliant in line DOT regulations and the working tie directives within each state. Will oversee day to day challenges including systems, vehicle maintenance, access to sites, adverse weather and traffic conditions that may require immediate resolution to maintain service integrity. Will carry out risk assessments on sites where necessary Manage staffing levels to ensure effective resource management of the driver pool Responsibility for the hiring process of the driver and ensure that the candidate is suitably trained and fit for the job Will ensure that conflicts are handled and resolved as they occur so that every staff member has a productive and healthy work environment. Will hold regular one to ones and periodic reviews to set goals and develop the team to meet company goals as well as personal targets. Attend trainings and seminars in order to keep up with best in industry standards Adhere to operational KPIs and ensure execution Will ensure and driver further efficiencies in the fleet Manage the telematics systems to deliver desired KPIs and overall understanding within the driver fleet Ensure understanding and knowledge with the driver fleet of there core KPIs Will have sole responsibility of the operation and should therefore have on-call responsibility and management of out of hour incidents. Will focus on continuous improvement of the Houston Fleet operational performance, identifying opportunities for improvements and highlight areas of critical concern. Mentor, develop and train the team to improve efficiencies and meet individual, team and organizational goals Full HSSE & Compliancy responsibility for truck and drivers and operations and functions related to this. (Requirement, Coaching, Training, Observation, Disciplinary actions and general HR management. Responsible for full compliancy towards DOT and inhouse fleet management system and corporate guidelines. Responsible for the HSSE & P&L performance of the FSE Fleet, including Safety metrices, fleet income, cost, truck and driver utilization, and capture of arbitrage (Best Buy) value, and safety. Ensure the fleet is operating safely and in compliance with all federal, state, and local law. Drive continues improvement with regards to cost efficient operation. Coordinate with distribution planning team in Riga, 3rd party dispatch in Houston and local management. Works closely with project and development department and secure compliancy with use of IT systems and tools Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field preferred. Other combinations of job-related experience and education that meet the requirements may be substituted. Preferred 10 years’ experience working with fuel distribution as driver, dispatcher, or manager. Experience with MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word preferred. Requires experience working with TMW or similar dispatch software.
