PAY AND BENEFITS
Annual Pay Range: $93,209.97 - $125,833.42
Hourly Pay Range: $44.812484 - $60.496838
Salary offers will be made within the posted pay range and will be based on a candidate's experience (paid or unpaid) that is directly relevant to the position.

We are searching for a Plumbing Inspector Supervisor to join our team at the Clackamas County Department of Transportation & Development. If selected for this position, you will be responsible for the coordination and supervision of staff within the Building Codes plumbing section, including implementation of the program’s goals, objectives, policies and procedures. In this role, you will perform and oversee plumbing plan review for projects of all types, provide technical information and guidance to staff and our customers, as well as conduct field inspections.
It is critical for an individual in this role to understand the importance of high quality customer service and strive to exceed the high standards and expectations set forth by our customers. Another key component of this position is regular interaction with the public, so it will be extremely important for the Plumbing Inspector Supervisor to demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Required Minimum Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:*

A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience, including the following:
- Conducting plumbing inspections, including interpreting plumbing codes, regulations and policies
- Reading plumbing diagrams and plumbing plans
- Evaluating plumbing materials, products and methods of installation

Certifications required at the time of hire (Note: Proof of possession of required certifications will be confirmed prior to the final offer of employment is extended to the selected candidate):
- Oregon Inspector Certification (OIC)
- Plumbing Specialty Code Inspector (PI)
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience leading the work of others (i.e. providing daily work direction and/or scheduling, assigning work, checking completed work, and/or training)
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience providing customer service by meeting customer’s needs and interacting with employees, vendors, and the public in a courteous and professional manner
- Experience writing accurate and clear inspection or similar reports
- Experience with general administrative and clerical procedures, including use of common computer applications, such as Microsoft Suite, as well as file management and record keeping
- Experience prioritizing and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Special Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:*
- Supervisory experience, including assigning work, training staff, preparing and reviewing team or individual performance appraisals, correcting performance deficiencies and recommending corrective actions
- Experience evaluating materials or products per their listing and methods of installation
- Experience calculating plumbing fixture loading for both DWV and Water
- Experience working on large scale commercial and industrial sites
- Experience with the Oregon Minor Label Program (Plumbing)
- Experience reviewing and inspecting site utility plans for large scale commercial and industrial sites

WORKING CONDITIONS
Duties are performed in a variety of conditions and settings including sedentary activities in an office and moderate to fairly strenuous activities in the field.
WORK SCHEDULE
This position works 40 hours during a standard workweek of Monday through Friday. Specific hours of work will be discussed with the candidate selected for this position at the time an offer of employment is extended.
Please Note: This position is eligible for hybrid on-site/telework subject to the Clackamas County Teleworking Policy and based on the Department’s business needs. The exact amount of on-site/telework and schedule will be discussed with the hiring manager during time of offer. Telework locations cannot be located outside of Oregon or Washington. Washington residents must perform 50% of their time on-site at Clackamas County.
