Educators increase their skills through the professional development, consultation and technical assistance we provide. We also offer an array of contracted services that enhance collaboration and cost savings. The skills and agility of our team allow us to respond rapidly to changing district needs. About this position: The AI Integration and Digital Innovation Specialist serves as a regional leader in advancing the adoption and responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital tools in education. This role provides culturally responsive consultation, professional development, and resources to support the integration of AI into teaching and learning while ensuring ethical considerations, data privacy, and equity. By collaborating with educators, administrators, and technology leaders, the Specialist seeks to reduce disparities, enhance instructional efficiency, reduce educator workload, and foster universally designed, accessible learning opportunities for all students, including those from historically marginalized communities. This position is governed by board policies, administrative rules, department regulations, and applicable state and federal laws. It does not carry administrative authority or responsibility. Essential functions: AI Innovation and Digital Innovation Leadership -Act as a leader in AI integration and innovation by staying informed on emerging research, frameworks, tools, and best practices in education. -Lead the integration of AI and digital tools with a focus on cultural relevance and inclusivity, ensuring tools address the diverse needs of all students. -Partner with educators, administrators, and IT specialists to pilot and implement AI tools effectively, ensuring alignment with district goals. -Guide the adoption of AI solutions for lesson design, personalized learning, equity-focused practices, and special education applications, such as IEP development and progress monitoring. -Represent the organization on AI-focused committees and collaborate with state and regional partners, including NWRESD, MESD and the Oregon Department of Education. -Monitor and evaluate AI advancements to keep districts informed and up to date. -Evaluate AI advancements with a lens on their impact on diverse cultural groups and historically underrepresented communities Professional Development and Support -Design and deliver culturally responsive professional learning sessions for teachers and administrators, addressing AI literacy, ethical considerations, and digital equity. -Support districts in aligning AI tools with state standards while ensuring these tools address the diverse cultural and linguistic needs of the student population. -Create user-friendly resources and materials to build educator capacity in leveraging AI for teaching and learning. -Facilitate collaboration through workshops, cadre meetings, and conferences, fostering innovation and knowledge-sharing among educators and administrators. -Support districts in aligning AI and digital tools with state standards, compliance regulations, and organizational goals. -Organize and host workshops, conferences, symposiums, or other gatherings focused on the integration of AI in education, fostering collaboration and innovation among educators, administrators, and technology leaders. Represent the district at regional and national AI and educational technology conferences, workshops, and professional meetings to stay informed about emerging trends, tools, and best practices. -Build and maintain networks with other AI specialists, sharing insights and resources to support continuous improvement and knowledge exchange. Resource Development and Consultation -Develop and maintain centralized repositories of educational resources, such as Google Sites, websites, and newsletters, for AI and digital learning tools that include materials tailored to the cultural and linguistic needs of diverse communities. -Evaluate and recommend digital tools for curriculum adoption, ensuring alignment with district needs and best practices. -Lead collaborative initiatives to share insights, strategies, and recommendations for effective AI implementation. -Developing evaluation frameworks to assess the effectiveness of AI Tools in improving teaching and learning. Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Compliance -Collaborate with IT departments to evaluate and approve AI tools, ensuring compliance with FERPA, COPPA, and other regulations. -Develop guidelines and best practices for the secure and compliant use of AI tools in educational settings. -Analyze AI policies to ensure data privacy and protect Personally Identifiable Information (PII). Advancing Digital Equity and Responsible Use -Promote ethical and equitable AI use, emphasizing digital citizenship, data privacy, and student safety while also addressing cultural bias in algorithms and ensuring AI tools support rather than harm marginalized communities. -Address issues of access to ensure equitable benefits from AI-driven solutions for all students and educators. -Balance screen time with meaningful, human-centered learning experiences. Minimum qualifications: -Valid teaching license and a Master’s degree in education or a related field. -At least 5 years of teaching experience, including classroom and instructional leadership roles. -Demonstrated expertise in AI in education through coursework, certifications, or ongoing professional development. -Strong knowledge of UDL, digital literacy, and curriculum development. -Proven ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including educators, administrators, and state-level organizations. Preferred qualifications: -Experience managing grants and/or leading regional initiatives. -Familiarity with data privacy regulations and AI ethics frameworks. -Expertise in integrating digital tools for special education, personalized learning, and differentiated instruction. -Exceptional communication and presentation skills. -Strong research and analytical abilities to evaluate AI tools and provide informed recommendations. -Leadership and facilitation skills to inspire innovation across districts. -Commitment to advancing responsible technology use in education. Salary: Salary based on experience, between $51,676.00 - $100,116.00 per year.
