The Billing Specialist processes property and damage claims for selected State Department of Transportation in accordance with CMRs established guidelines and procedures. The position requires interactions with clients and employees, as well as report preparation.
Essential Functions
- Verifies that data is accurate and complete.
- Analyzes information to determine the correct party is being billed.
- Records claim information via data entry into CMRs customized software applications.
- Responds to client requests for information via email and telephone.
- Answers inbound calls and/or emails from Insurance Carriers and other damaging parties as well as returns necessary correspondence.
- Responds to internal requests for information via internal request workflow.
- Communicates with co-workers, management and clients in a courteous and professional manner.
Tiered Support Bonus System
The following bonus structure is based on total fees generated across CMR during the month. Bonuses are paid per pay period on the paycheck following the period in which it is earned. This is additional money earned for doing your job!
- Level 1 = $125
- Level 2 = $175
- Level 3 = $240
Required Skills and Experience: Excellent attendance and punctuality. Accurate data review and data entry skills. Good Communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. Analytical and processing skills. Time management and ability to prioritize work. Organized thorough and detail oriented. Basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Educational and Experience Requirement: 2 years of clerical experience preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent.
