Requirements:
California Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential required authorizing service in an English as a Second Language.
CBEST transcript if newly hired in the state of California or if no public school employment within the last 39 calendar months in a California public school.
Job Description:
Teaching English as a second language to Adults who first or main language is not English, in a classroom setting. Teachers of ESL use a range of course books and materials and also variety of audio visual aids. There is a strong emphasis on dialogue and role playing, but more formal exercises, language games and literature are also used.
Hours: Part-time hourly position
Monday - Thursday: 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (12 hours/week)
Salary:
Step I-$43.11/hour (per CUSD district policy)
Step II-$46.00/hour after one year employment with Claremont Adult School
