Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct speech and language screenings to identify potential communication challenges.
- Evaluate and analyze data to recommend appropriate speech-language interventions for students.
- Assist with IEP development by crafting impactful goals and ensuring proper student placement procedures.
- Deliver evidence-based therapy sessions tailored to meet each student’s unique needs and communication goals.
- Provide guidance and consultation to educators and families, helping integrate effective communication strategies into daily activities.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, administrators, and other specialists to align speech-language objectives with both classroom and home environments.
Requirements
Applicants should possess an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field, as well as hold or be eligible for an Illinois SLPA license. Previous experience in a school setting is preferred. Ideal candidates will have strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities, along with the capacity to collaborate effectively and follow the guidance of the supervising SLP.
