Responsibilities
- Lead, direct, and oversee all research initiatives focused on housing markets across the spectrum of residential opportunities including : SFR / BTR, manufactured, affordable, student, senior and traditional apartments.
- Monitor macro and local economic indicators, employment growth, and demographic trends to clearly identify key housing trends that can be applied across the different strategies within the firm.
- Partner with the data science team to create actionable investment recommendations from portfolio construction to market selection.
- Be conversant with the nuances of acquisition vs. development project.
- Be versed with key data science concepts including GIS, ESRI, Azure etc. A keen appreciation of big data analytics is a must.
- Identify and vet data sources to enhance forecasting capabilities.
- Design, draft, and publish quarterly market reports, strategy research, white papers, and external industry publications.
- Prepare investment memo for Investment Committee as well as market forecasts / business plans
- Supervise, mentor and direct junior research analyst(s), as appropriate.
- Participate in industry conferences and visit target markets when needed.
