Culinary Operations Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation and production, ensuring that all dishes meet our high standards of quality and presentation. This role requires a strong understanding of kitchen management and the ability to supervise kitchen staff effectively. The Assistant Chef will play a crucial role in maintaining inventory control and supporting overall kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals according to established recipes and standards.
• Oversee food production processes to ensure consistency and quality.
• Manage kitchen inventory, including ordering supplies and controlling stock levels.
• Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support during shifts.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Help with menu planning and development, contributing creative ideas for new dishes.
• Assist in shift management, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently during service hours.
• Collaborate with bartending staff to create complementary beverage pairings for menu items.

Experience

• Proven experience in food preparation or production within a professional kitchen environment.
• Familiarity with kitchen management practices, including supervising staff and managing inventory.
• Strong skills in cooking techniques, food safety, and sanitation standards.
• Experience with shift management is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
• Background in bartending is a plus but not mandatory.

Pay: $14.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 32 per week
