Job Summary :
The Video Producer is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is excited about building an audience, and is someone that understands the importance of video on various platforms. In addition to producing a large volume of videos, the video producer is proficient in social media production for audience engagement. This is a key role in delivering an exceptional online experience to our readers. This work schedule includes nights and weekends and will occasionally require shooting breaking news and other events.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities :
- Be part of a team that manages brand across all platforms.
- Producing multiple videos daily for digital, social and e-edition products
- Planning and presenting content ideas when requested
- Partnering with journalists to produce video content
- Help train members of the newsroom on proper techniques, as well as establishing a successful workflow for video submissions
- When needed, operate video cameras, DSLR cameras both in studio and on-location collecting video and sound using imagination, originality, and artistic creativity.
- Knowledge of libel law and other legal issues
- The work schedule will often include nights and weekends and may occasionally require shooting video and / or photos for breaking news, sports and other events.
