Our client is an LGBTQ Nonprofit, seeking a passionate and organized Medical Receptionist to join our dynamic team and help support our recovery programs. Location: Fully Onsite
Rate: $25/hr - $27/hr
Hours: Monday - Friday, 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Position Type: Ongoing (Temporary)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet community members in person or by phone and direct clients to the appropriate staff.
- Respond to basic inquiries regarding recovery programming through email, phone, and in-person interactions. Make referrals as needed.
- Maintain a clean and welcoming reception area.
- Provide general office support, including scheduling rooms, managing workstations, phone service, and computer support for recovery programs.
- Assist with billing for self-pay and sliding scale fee clients.
- Coordinate program linkages with external agencies and community groups.
- Support the Operations department in maintaining recovery service orders and office supplies.
- Keep the supply room fully stocked and organized, ensuring printed referral materials are available.
- Participate in recovery team meetings, staff meetings, and other required gatherings.
- Enter necessary forms for both youth and adult treatment programs.
- Attend weekly supervision with the Director.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or comparable work/life experience preferred.
- 2-3 years of reception or administrative assistant experience; experience in alcohol and drug abuse and mental health services is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with sensitivity to client confidentiality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of interacting regularly with staff and the public.
- Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus (especially in Spanish, Bengali, Russian, and/or French-Creole).
- Self-motivated, takes initiative, and exercises sound judgment.
- Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Computer proficiency, especially in MS Office; experience with electronic medical systems is a plus.
- Commitment to inclusive, multicultural programming, and racial equity.
- Knowledge of LGBT youth, adults, and community needs, with a focus on gender identity, transgender, and non-binary issues.
- A strong commitment to the mission of the organization.
