A technology manufacturer is seeking an experienced Multi-Platform Analyst/Administrator. In this role, you will work closely with the IT Director and collaborate with various departments to maintain and enhance the company’s technology infrastructure. The environment spans both local and wide area networks, multiple operating systems, and critical applications. The ideal candidate should have a substantial background in manufacturing and a proven track record of implementing cybersecurity best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Server & Infrastructure Management
- Oversee both Windows and Linux server environments, including operating systems, applications, and underlying physical or virtual infrastructure.
- Maintain system uptime, performance, and integrity through proactive monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Plan and execute regular software updates, patches, and hardware changes following established change management protocols.
- Desktop & Device Support
- Configure and maintain desktop systems on Windows and macOS platforms, ensuring smooth operations for end-users.
- Manage and monitor peripheral devices and hardware used in day-to-day operations.
- Provide responsive technical assistance across phone, chat, and video channels, maintaining a detailed log of issues and solutions.
- Data Backup & Recovery
- Implement and manage comprehensive backup solutions to safeguard company data.
- Regularly test restore/recovery processes to validate the integrity of backed-up data.
- Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Maintain security standards and remediate vulnerabilities on servers, workstations, and network devices.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry and organizational security requirements, documenting actions taken to mitigate risks.
- Systems Architecture & Lifecycle
- Contribute to the design of desktop and server environments, aligning with company objectives and best practices.
- Support the technology lifecycle, from planning and deployment to decommissioning and replacement.
- Coordinate with global and local IT teams to ensure standardized practices and continuous service improvement.
- Manufacturing & Operations Support
- Provide technical support for the manufacturing floor, including specialized shop-floor systems, MES platforms, or other production-related technologies.
- Collaborate with Operations teams to ensure seamless integration of new tools and upgrades in a production setting.
- Scripting & Automation
- Develop and maintain shell scripts or other automation tools to streamline routine maintenance tasks and system operations.
- Continuously explore opportunities to improve efficiency and performance through automation.
- Documentation & Communication
- Keep clear, detailed records of system configurations, maintenance activities, and incident resolutions.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding system status, expectations, and service quality.
- After-Hours Monitoring
- Participate in rotating on-call or after-hours support as needed, addressing critical alerts or incidents.
Position Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years in Information Technology or a related field, with at least 5 years supporting a manufacturing environment.
- Education: Bachelor’s or associate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or comparable technical experience.
- Windows Administration: Proven expertise in Windows Server administration, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and related services.
- Linux Competency: Proficiency in Linux server administration (Red Hat, Ubuntu, or CentOS), including command-line scripting.
- Virtualization: Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere or similar technologies.
- Security & Access Control: Knowledge of access permissions, system auditing, and log analysis tools.
- Backup & Recovery: Familiarity with at least one backup solution (e.g., Veeam, Carbonite, Double Take, or Veritas).
- Change & Incident Management: Practical background in structured change, problem, and incident management processes.
- Desktop & Device Support: Comfortable with Windows and macOS, from deployment to troubleshooting.
- Physical Requirements: Able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally, and up to 25 lbs. more frequently.
- Certifications: Industry-recognized credentials (e.g., MCSE, CompTIA Server ) are advantageous.

- Network Fundamentals
