Primary Responsibilities
- Lead business operations, project performance, and staff development within the Indiana region.
- Serves on the Operations Committee and reports regional operating KPIs monthly.
- Monitor regional project financial and technical performance while ensuring client satisfaction, initiating corrective actions as needed.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to Area Managers and Team Leaders, fostering a culture of professional growth.
- Develop and oversee the annual chargeability, salary plan, and capital expenditure budget for the region.
- Identify and address skill and experience gaps, collaborating with human resources and leadership teams on recruitment and onboarding strategies.
- Collaborates with the EVP of Marketing & Business Development and the Client Relations Director for Indiana to strategize and implement sales and marketing activities and initiatives for all disciplines within the region.
- Strategize and implement sales and marketing planning and initiatives in collaboration with the EVP of Marketing & Business Development and the Client Relations Director for Indiana.
- Reviews workload forecasts for the region, identifies gaps and collaborates with other Regional Directors to share work.
- Ensure compliance with all contract terms, reviewing and approving non-standard agreements in collaboration with Director of Risk, Quality and Safety as needed.
- Collaborate with the Director of Risk, Quality, and Safety to identify, assess, and mitigate risks within the region, overseeing compliance with applicable standards.
- Build and sustain meaningful relationships with professional and political leaders to enhance the company’s visibility and reputation.
- B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline and IN PE license are required.
- 15 years of progressive experience managing teams and projects for a variety of public sector civil engineering projects is required.
- Ability to lead or assist business development efforts for multiple disciplines and project types throughout the region.
- Experience with the planning, design, and construction of engineering projects in the following areas are desired; INDOT, local roads, structural/bridges, water distribution, sanitary sewer, stormwater/drainage, water/wastewater facilities and mechanical/electrical.
- Deep experience with project management for public sector engineering projects including scope, schedule, fee development, QA/QC, and project control.
- Knowledgeable of the capabilities of various engineering design and modeling tools.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to make public presentations and inspire and motivate diverse teams and individuals.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to travel throughout the region as needed.
