The Produce Department Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the oversite of daily operations of the produce department, ensuring high-quality products are available for customers, and maintaining excellent customer service. This role includes managing inventory, placing orders, ensuring proper product rotation, and supervising produce department staff.
Key Responsibilities :
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure a full and fresh produce display.
- Conduct regular stock checks and manage inventory to minimize waste and shrinkage.
- Ensure proper product rotation using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method.
- Place orders for produce and related supplies from approved vendors in a timely manner to maintain adequate stock levels.
- Verify the accuracy and quality of deliveries against purchase orders.
- Resolve any discrepancies with vendors regarding orders and deliveries.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Ensure the produce department is clean, well-organized, and visually appealing.
- Assist with scheduling, training, and daily supervision of produce department staff.
- Delegate tasks effectively to ensure smooth department operations.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to staff.
- Inspect produce for quality and freshness regularly.
- Remove any damaged or expired products from the sales floor.
- Implement and maintain proper storage practices to preserve product quality.
- Develop and maintain attractive produce displays to enhance the shopping experience.
- Plan and execute seasonal promotions and special displays.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain proper sanitation and cleanliness standards in the produce department.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory, orders, sales, and waste.
