Title: Human Resources Assistant

Location: 3019 Hempland Rd, Lancaster, PA 17601

Department: Human Resources

Average Hours: 8 AM – 4:30 PM with overtime as needed and approved by manager

Wage: $22.00-$25.00 per hour

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as first point of contact for employees and guests visiting the Clark Service Group corporate office. Update the welcome screen for new employees, visitors, interviewees, or anyone else scheduled to visit the office.
  • Coordinate the recruiting process, including but not limited to:
  • Posting and maintaining job openings on various recruiting platforms.
  • Pre-screening candidates over the phone for minimum requirements and company culture fit.
  • Scheduling and assisting with in-person interviews.
  • Preparing offer letters and onboarding documents.
  • Scheduling drug screens, physicals, and run background checks.
  • Partner with managers to facilitate new hire onboarding on their first day.
  • Coordinate with food service equipment manufacturers to provide training for our field team.
  • Assist with maintaining employee files and records on all benefit and HR platforms.
  • Respond to employee general/basic questions about HR policies and benefits.
  • Partner with the Human Resources Manager and company leadership for employee termination and offboarding.
  • Assist with worker’s compensation and auto accident claims.
  • Maintain safety documentation for incidents and investigations, and distribute to proper team members when requested.
  • Maintain employee clearance files and provide to customers as needed.
  • Assist with tracking/managing employee performance reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Perform other clerical duties as needed, such as filing, data entry, and photocopying.
  • Assist with employee engagement and recognition activities/programs, including but not limited to engagement events/meetings, monthly newsletters, company communication/announcements, kudos program, birthday cards, etc).
  • Provide administrative support for Corporate Trainer/Safety Manager, HR Manager, Executive Team, and Company Owners.
  • Assist with retrieving, opening, and distributing company mail.
  • Keep stock of office, breakroom, and bathroom supplies and replenish as needed.
  • Oversee breakroom tasks (running and emptying dishwashers daily, scheduling quarterly fridge cleanouts).
  • Reconcile monthly invoices from insurance companies.
  • Provide support with technician uniform distribution and inventory.
  • Maintain record of facilities maintenance issues and address them as needed.
  • Other projects, duties and errands as assigned by Human Resources, Safety/Training, Employee Engagement, and Company Owners.

Education and Experience:

  • Associates Degree or higher in Human Resources, Business, or related field OR equivalent experience Human Resources (preferred).
  • Experience in the food service industry (preferred).
  • Member of Society of Human Resource Management (preferred).

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to problem-solve.
  • Proficient in Microsoft related software, including but not limited to Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the HRM and talent management system.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Occasionally lift to 10 pounds.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, and reach.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in the English language.
