Coordinates and prepares all food items for the kitchen. Help ensure student and staff have all the necessary items needed to enjoy their meal and help facilitate an efficient dining environment. This position reports directly to the Kitchen Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Under general supervision and following established Standardized Operating Procedures:
- Perform any duties or tasks communicated by the Kitchen Manager.
- Delegates tasks to other food service workers.
- Fill in for the Kitchen Manager when absent.
- Set up and breakdown serving stations in correlation to the daily menu.
- Prepare, assemble, and replenish food and beverages.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation.
- Has positive and friendly attitude towards students, staff, fellow coworkers, and management.
- Maintain proper personal hygiene and adheres to dress code.
Requirements:
ServSafe Certification: Food Handler of some other Safety & Sanitation Certificate or equal standard or higher is preferred but not required. Example: UNH Cooperative Extension Safety & Sanitation Certificate, or any ICN Sanitation Certificates.
- Ability to adapt and work well with a changing work environment. Works well under pressure.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, push or pull heavy carts and racks daily.
- Must be able to work in varied work environment temperatures. Example: Put away orders in the freezer, or work in a hot kitchen
during the spring and summer months.
- Must be able to read, speak, write and understand English.
- Must be able to communicate with the public and have good customer relation skills.
- Must be able to follow a standardized recipe.
