Looking for a fantastic hands-on HR learning opportunity working with a fast paced and amazing team in a hybrid and casual environment this summer?
Clarke hires over 100 seasonal field technicians to work in a variety of outdoor field positions.
We are looking for a dynamic, outgoing, organized and detail oriented HR/Recruiting Intern to join the FUN that ensues when recruiting and onboarding 100 seasonal coworkers!
Spend your summer:
- Learning the entire recruiting process from drafting a posting, utilizing an applicant tracking system, reviewing resumes and applications to interviewing, extending an offer and facilitating onboarding for seasonal technicians to a variety of roles
- Supporting the strategic direction of Clarke's seasonal staffing initiatives
- Helping to identify, source, and attract a pipeline of qualified candidates by developing and utilizing creative sources beyond commercial databases and traditional job postings
- Gaining valuable Human Resources experience and mentorship from an experienced, supportive and knowledgeable HR Team

Pay: $18-$20 per hour
Hours/Location: Monday - Friday, ~40 hours/week, day position. Office location in Roselle with possible occasional days worked in St Charles.
Must be able to work mid May - mid/end of August.
Duties may include:
- Supporting recruiting efforts to ensure an adequate flow of candidates which may include: campus and organization (churches/55 community etc.) visits
- Attending job fairs and recruiting events
- community distribution of flyers
- utilizing social media
- posting jobs on various job boards and tracking expiration of posts
- Conducting phone screens and interviews
- Extending offers of employment
- Performing pre-employment background checks such as motor vehicle records
- Facilitating weekly orientation and sexual harassment training
- Maintaining files in accordance with recordkeeping requirements
- Providing support to the department such as special projects, filing and other miscellaneous duties as assigned or requested
- Contributing to Corporate Culture and sustainability activities such as Clarke's annual "Day of Caring" volunteer event and picnic
Required Experience:
- Knowledge and utilization of social media for recruiting strongly preferred
- Familiarity with utilization of applicant tracking systems a plus
- Ability to communicate in English, both written and verbal forms
- Demonstrated organizational skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent phone presence and authentic customer service aptitude
- Understanding of, and ability to apply, federal, state and local employment laws
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- The ability to effectively partner with employees, management and cross functional teams to meet performance objectives and support the mission, vision and values of the Company
