The Town of Clarksburg, MA, is seeking a part-time Library Director (25 hours/week) to oversee all library operations, including staff supervision, building maintenance, special event programming, collection development, and budget management.
Clarksburg, a town of 1,650 residents, is nestled in the northern Berkshires, just north of North Adams, MA, and south of Stamford, VT. Our library, a member of CW/MARS, is located adjacent to the K–8 Clarksburg School, fostering a strong, collaborative relationship.
The ideal candidate is energetic, adaptable, and comfortable interacting with town officials. They should be committed to delivering outstanding customer service, engaging the community, maintaining adequate funding for state certification, and implementing a long-range plan. The candidate must also be able to quickly learn library software applications for both internal and public use; familiarity with Microsoft Office is preferred. A bachelor’s degree is required. This is a benefited position.
The Library Director reports directly to the Board of Trustees and collaborates with other town departments and committees.
