What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Specialist position at Clarkson Construction?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Supports the accurate, timely processing of weekly payroll for union and non-union employees in multiple locations.
- Helps process certified payrolls and related reporting, tracking and managing Davis Bacon wage orders and prevailing wage laws.
- Provides maintenance and updates to payroll software; enters new hires, employee status changes, and updates related to deductions, wage garnishments, and taxes.
- Completes relevant quarterly, year-end, and other reporting.
- Processes union paperwork and reports, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Audits payroll and related records for accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Completes EEO reports, workforce reports, and the KDOT / MoDOT weekly trainee submissions, specifically related to city compliance.
- Responds to employee pay inquires, and third-party employment and pay verification requests.
- Maintains secure, accurate, and organized records and files, reporting discrepancies.
- Meets deadlines and responds to time-sensitive matters accordingly.
- Maintains the highest level of confidentiality and complies with company policies on ethical standards and business practices.
- Processes / completes expense reports, short-term projects, and other duties as assigned.
