Job Summary: The Sterile Processing Technician cares for and maintains all surgical instrumentation, sterilization devices, instrument washers and monitoring systems.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must be a Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician
- 3 years experience as Instrument Room Technician required.
- Preferred experience with daVinci Robot, eye surgery and endoscopy as well as experience with all types of sterilizers. Knowledge of operating room instrumentation.
- Organized in setting up operating room instrument tray.
- Understands operation of steam/ gravity sterilizer, Sterrad sterilizers.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items is required.
- Promotes Environment of Care/Patient Safety.
