Job Skills / Requirements
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the consumer lending sales and processing teams. Hire, train, coach, and evaluate staff to ensure a high-performing team that meets sales and service goals.
- Plan and execute strategies to drive loan growth and optimize member experience. Oversee loan origination and funding processes while collaborating with marketing to develop promotions, pricing, and programs that support credit union goals.
- Ensure lending activities comply with policies, regulations, and best practices. Stay informed on market trends and recommend adjustments to loan products and sales strategies.
- Perform other special assignments as directed.
Expectations:
- Ensure Credit Union policies and procedures are being followed in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintain a cohesive, highly trained and motivated staff sufficient to meet the needs of the Credit Union’s organizational objectives.
- Provide knowledgeable, professional and efficient service and support to all members and staff.
- Stay abreast of rules and regulations governing all types of loan products and ensure timely adoption of necessary policy changes to be in compliance.
- Periodically review loan files for accuracy and adherence with policies and procedures.
- Participate in credit union business development and educational events to provide lending expertise.
- Develop recommendations for cost efficiencies and enhancements to products, services, pricing and processes by monitoring industry and market trends.
- Perform other such duties as may be assigned which are commensurate with the position and in the best interest of the Credit Union.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: Five years of similar or related experience in managing lending employees. Must be knowledgeable of rules and regulations applicable to lending.

Education: A four year college degree is desired but may be substituted with relative lending experience.
Interpersonal Skills: Must have strong managerial skills and possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Position involves ability to organize and delegate work assignments, motivate others to achieve desired outcomes and promote a team environment. A significant level of trust, diplomacy and professionalism is required, and possess a cooperative attitude in relations with members, vendors, and other employees.
Other Skills: Must be self-motivated, able to prioritize work flow, handle multiple assignments concurrently, work a flexible schedule, and perform under time constraints. Must have working knowledge of PC and general office equipment, with experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Attention to detail and accuracy is essential. Must be bondable.
