Classover Academy is a K-12 learning center dedicated to inspiring students and fostering academic excellence. Our specialized programs, including Math Olympiad training, empower students to develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and mathematical expertise.
Position Details:
- Role: Math Olympiad Teacher
- Schedule: Part-time (flexible, 2-4 hours per week)
- Teaching Levels: Middle and high school students preparing for competitions like AMC 8 and Math Kangaroo
- Responsibilities
The Math Olympiad Teacher will:
- Be a dynamic educator with vision and patience, inspiring students to embrace challenging concepts.
- Subscribe to and actively promote Classover Academy's core values, mission, and philosophy.
- Design and implement lesson plans for advanced math at grades 5-8th level.
- Evaluate each student’s progress in mathematical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
- Vertically align coursework to provide students with a cohesive and meaningful learning scope.
- Communicate with parents to explain contemporary methods in teaching mathematics and discuss individual student progress alongside counselors when needed.
- Embrace authentic assessments, innovative pedagogies, discussion-based learning, and project-based learning.
- Attend department, faculty, and other regular training meetings.
- Promote an inclusive and collaborative classroom and community environment.
- Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a related field (required).
- Experience in Maths education.
- Substantial expertise in mathematics and competitive problem-solving.
- A student-centered approach, skilled in fostering persistent problem-solving.
- Knowledge of adolescents’ intellectual, social, and emotional development.
- Eagerness to collaborate with colleagues on curriculum design, pedagogy, and assessments.
- Interest in contributing to the school community outside the classroom as a coach, advisor, or club leader (preferred).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- U.S. Work Authorization (required).
