Classic Equine Equipment, located among the rolling hills and horse farms of Southern Missouri, was founded in 1991 on a love for horses and a commitment to their ultimate care and safety. Though a lot has changed since then, our mission remains the same: To provide quality stall systems, barn components, and accessories to meet the needs of all horse owners.
The Accounting Manager is a full-time position responsible for planning and directing the accounting activities of the business. The Accounting Manager manages the accounting staff who are responsible for financial reporting, cash disbursements & receipts, collections, and payroll. The position must possess a strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and accounting information systems.

Essential Functions
- Produces periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Leads the monthly and annual close of the accounting books, preparing and posting standard monthly journal entries and performing monthly reconciliations of all general ledger accounts.
- Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.
- Serves as SME for the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform (currently using QuickBooks Online); identifying opportunities to streamline processes and overseeing changes to the ERP.
- Oversees preparation of business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets.
- Analyzes financial and operational results, providing leadership with timely, detailed, and meaningful insights on business performance.
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA designation preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience
- Proven leadership skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent follow through
- Dedicated to creating a workplace environment that is safe, organized, productive and enjoyable
- Proven process improvement efforts and results achieved
- Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with QuickBooks Online or other business system software preferred, but not required
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
