Job Description:
We’re seeking a Consulting Chef to lead, refine, and elevate our culinary program for our Waterfront location. The ideal candidate is an innovative and operationally sound culinary leader with a proven background in high-volume kitchen and seasonal restaurant operations. This is a hands-on, strategic role focused on menu development, kitchen systems, staff training, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine seasonal menus with a focus on coastal, New American cuisine
- Standardize recipes, prep lists, and plate presentations
- Create BOH systems for prep, service, inventory, and ordering
- Train and mentor culinary staff
- Ensure all DOH and safety standards are in place
- Collaborate with FOH leadership for seamless service
- Assist in hiring and onboarding key BOH team members
- Be present during seasonal opening and provide continued oversight as needed
Qualifications:
- 5 years in an Executive or Consulting Chef role
- Experience with multi-outlet operations and seasonal ramp-ups
- Strong culinary technique and creative vision
- High-volume, fast-paced kitchen experience required
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Availability during peak pre-season and opening period
- NYS Food Safety Certification preferred
