We are seeking a dedicated and passionate High School Football Coach to assist with our the football program. The ideal candidate will foster athletic excellence, personal growth, and teamwork while maintaining a strong focus on sportsmanship and academic achievement. This role offers flexibility, welcoming both full-time and part-time candidates, as well as lay coaching applicants.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and implementing practice plans, game strategies, and conditioning programs that align with the team's goals.
- Teach and model skills, techniques, and strategies necessary for success in football at the high school level.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that emphasizes teamwork, discipline, and respect.
- Evaluate player skills and provide guidance for athletic and personal development.
- Manage game-day operations, including preparation, logistics, and player supervision.
- Ensure compliance with school policies, league regulations, and safety standards.
- Act as a mentor and role model to student-athletes, encouraging academic and personal achievement.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, staff, and the broader school community.
- Coordinate with school administration to manage schedules, facilities, and team equipment.
- Collaborate with other coaches and athletic staff to support the overall success of the athletic program.
Qualifications
- Previous coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level (preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of football rules, strategies, and techniques.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes both on and off the field.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- (For lay coaches) Willingness to complete any required certifications or training mandated by the school or state athletic association.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education, sports management, or a related field.
- Teaching certification (for full-time candidates seeking a dual teaching-coaching role).
- Experience in strength and conditioning programs or sports psychology.
Work Environment and Schedule
- Practices and games may take place in the evenings, on weekends, and during holidays, depending on the season schedule.
- Ability to commit to a flexible schedule that meets the needs of the program.
