IT Director
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled IT Director to lead and oversee all technology-related strategies of Clay County Medical Center. This leadership role will serve as the primary resource for all technical aspects, working closely with departments across the organization. As the key liaison between the IT department and other organizational units, the IT Director will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of all technological systems, infrastructure, and services. The IT Director will primarily collaborate with the Network/System Administrator to address technical needs and drive improvements within the department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary architect for designing and troubleshooting technology systems within the organization.
- Design, deploy, analyze, and manage network systems, including routing, VLANs, segmentation, firewalls, and network security.
- Manage installation, configuration, and upgrades for hardware/software systems such as Windows Server, rackmount servers, virtualization, and system backups.
- Oversee system monitoring and maintenance activities, ensuring uptime and performance.
- Serve as the Security Officer responsible for technical security and regulatory roles.
- Oversee the organization’s cybersecurity efforts, ensuring the protection of critical systems and data.
- Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors, ensuring effective collaboration.
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures related to technology systems and security.
- Manage budgeting and purchasing of technology equipment and services.
- Collaborate with departments to ensure IT solutions meet their operational needs and strategic goals.
- Assist with user support requests, including password resets, account creation/removal, software usage, and troubleshooting hardware/software issues.
- Design and implement processes to improve software and hardware performance.
- Support the setup and maintenance of user workspaces, including devices like printers, workstations, and phones.
- Document all technical procedures and configurations to ensure consistency and future troubleshooting.
- Assist with security camera systems, telephony (PBX/IP), and centralized door lock security.
- Support audit requests and generate reports as needed.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions:
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing, walking, using hands, reaching, climbing, and lifting/moving up to 50 pounds.
- Exposure to high noise levels in certain environments.
Professional Requirements:
- IT certifications preferred (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft).
- 3 years of IT experience preferred; prior management experience a plus.
