The Employee Engagement Specialist collaborates with all divisions of Personnel Department to enhance employee satisfaction, retention, and overall success of the organization. This position fosters a positive work environment by ensuring that Clay County BCC employees feel valued and motivated through ongoing events and tailored programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the Director of Personnel in designing and implementing programs such as employee recognition and team-building activities to strengthen interpersonal relationships and team cohesion within the County.
- Assist in coordinating Employee Engagement events such as the County-wide Wellness Fair, Employee Recognition, and quarterly/annual events.
- Coordinate employee-led initiatives open to the public and community.
- Facilitate a positive culture of well-being physically and mentally throughout the organization by increasing awareness and engagement in programs available to county employees.
- Assist with program promotion, including the development and/or distribution of promotional materials.
- Maintain records and run reports to track employee achievements, years of service and merit recognitions.
- Recognize and celebrate employee achievements and milestones through various recognition programs.
- Track and report on all participant-facing activities related to interactions, presentations, special events, and wellness challenges.
- In case of emergency or crisis situation (hurricane, flood, etc.) position is required to respond/perform emergency and recovery duties as assigned by the County Manager or designee.
- During an emergency or crisis situation, this position will may be required to be present at the Emergency Operation Center (EOC) to provide assistance while activated.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience in Event or Program Planning
- 1-2 years experience in an administrative role (HR Preferred)
- 2-3 years experience in direct Project Management.
- Valid Florida driver’s license with clean driving record
- A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Any combination of education and experience may be substituted, so long as it provides the desired skills, knowledge and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job
Supplemental Information:
Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
Working knowledge of Canva or similar design platforms for creating promotional materials. (Preferred)
Knowledge of health and wellness promotions.
Knowledge of Human Resources Practices
Comfortable speaking in front of an audience or one-on-one.
Ability to motivate and engage employees in events and initiatives.
Must be self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.
Effective project management skills to plan, execute, and evaluate engagement programs and initiatives
Innovative thinking and creativity to design engaging programs and activities that resonate with employees.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey ideas, engage employees, and collaborate with team.
