As a Park Maintenance employee, you will perform general maintenance of the systems and grounds for Clay County owned buildings and land. Our current opening is for Eastern Parks and requires a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as experience in basic grounds keeping and equipment operation. Duties could include operating tractors, right-of-way mowers, commercial riding mowers, trimmers, edgers, aerators, seeders, or spreaders and performing task such as repairing picnic tables, grills, play structures, trash can holders, and signs; cleaning restrooms; emptying trash; minor electrical repairs; and snow and ice removal. Since the days will be spent outdoors the ability to work in outdoor conditions of extreme heat or cold for lengths of time is also necessary.
The hourly salary is $16.82 plus benefits. The employee benefits package includes two defined benefit retirement plans fully funded by the County and a deferred-compensation plan with a match on the first 6% contributed. We also offer three medical plans including two high deductible plans, dental, vision, two flexible spending accounts, and supplemental plans. Full-time employees are also offered life insurance (2X annual salary) paid by the County, paid vacation/sick leave, 14 paid holidays, LTD and tuition reimbursement.
