Purchasing Manager

Clay County Missouri seeks a dedicated, highly skilled and motivated leader to join our team as Purchasing Manager. The Purchasing Manager works independently with general oversight and direction to deliver efficiency while maximizing taxpayer dollars through internal centralized services and public procurement. A bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, business law, finance, Purchasing, accounting or related field is required, but extensive experience in the governmental financial and administrative operations may be considered in lieu of education. The position also requires three (3) years of professional and/or supervisory level government administration experience including budgeting, fiscal management, purchasing and program management experience. We are seeking a solutions-oriented leader with supervisory, customer relations, and vendor contract management skills to provide professional support and sound contractual advice to all departments. Supervision is exercised over professional and clerical staff engaged in procurement and contract compliance activities.

The successful candidate must be able to foster effective public relations and work collaboratively with a diverse customer base, internally and externally, to deliver objectives that are responsive to the needs of Clay County offices and departments.

The starting salary, DOE, is $74,000 - $88,000 annually. Along with a competitive salary, the County offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
