The Role We Want You For
The Senior Mechanical Engineer - Corporate Infrastructure and Healthcare will be working with in-house Development, Architecture, and Construction teams to provide Mechanical HVAC Design and Quality Assurance on projects for our nationwide clients.
Projects will consist of commercial corporate infrastructure (primarily data center and telecommunications industries) and healthcare markets for existing building improvements and new construction.
The Specifics of the Role
- Project work may include conceptual and schematic design, feasibility studies, and full construction documentation (drawings and specifications).
- Senior Mechanical Engineer is involved from the beginning to foresee preliminary design challenges.
- As a Senior Level Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for leading mechanical HVAC engineering design and analysis, and for leading entry level Mechanical Engineers and / or Mechanical Designers.
- Knowledge of building mechanical codes and building material thermal values along with the ability to perform accurate load calculations.
- Understanding of healthcare design principles, best practices, and codes.
- Focus is on problem solving instead of finger pointing. The Architect, Engineer, and Contractor are on the same team.
- Project designs based on construction schedule versus fully finished package.
- Preliminary pricing advantages due to historical construction experience.
- Coordination with equipment vendors, Procurement, and Preconstruction groups throughout the design process to support target-based value designs.
- Input from jobsite can identify construction issues.
- Projects can be designed to the builder’s strength.
- Review shop drawings and submittals to ensure compliance with scope of work.
- Opportunity for site and Quality visits to assist in solving field issues.
- Relationship building with Field Staff (Superintendents and other on-site personnel).
