SUMMARY:
The Quality Technician is responsible for the inspection of production parts and components at various stages during the manufacturing process by confirming specifications, conducting visual and dimensional, and functional tests.

This role does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Use of vision correction is acceptable, if necessary; however, any vision correction apparatus must meet all safety guidelines for the area of activity.

Ongoing job specific training will be required throughout the duration of employment for necessary skills such as quality and regulatory quality management systems and procedures, etc.
SUMMARY:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform assigned routine inspections on materials and goods in-process.
- Audit/inspect product at various stages of the manufacturing process including visual, functional, and dimensional inspections, using programed vision light, and touch probe inspection systems.
- Identify product with a product identification label.
- Issue tooling write-ups for quality problems
- Other responsibilities include but are not limited to,
- Removing runners
- De-gating production
- Marking and packaging production
- Sorting defective product
- Work production line to allow main assemblers to go on break.
- Accurately complete required quality and production reports and records using paper and paperless electronic computer applications.
- Exercise proper care in the use of tools, equipment, and materials. Detect and report faulty equipment, defective materials, improper operations and/or unusual conditions to supervisor.
- Observe all safety rules and regulations including, but not limited to, wearing, and maintaining personal protective equipment, or gown and bouffet. Maintain work area in a clean and safe condition.
- Work with team members, other business functions, customers, and/or suppliers to continually improve performance and quality.
- Work on the production line 10-25% of the the shift.
- Comply with Quality System guidelines per ISO 9001, and ISO 13485, as documented in the company’s Quality Assurance manuals.
- Calibrate basic measuring gages.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- High School Diploma, or equivalent
- Minimum of two (2) years of quality inspection experience, preferred
- Experience with basic measurement tools such as, but not limited to, micrometers, calipers, gages, etc.
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs, such as Word and Excel.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Read, write, and understand English (Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus)
- Ability to read and understand written instructions including, but not limited to, engineering drawings, documents, specifications, and blueprints.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and follow verbal and written instructions and techniques.
- Ability to analyze and interpret information and data.
- Demonstrated ability to use inspection equipment (i.e., micrometers, calipers, gage pins, microscope etc.)
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to learn complex measuring equipment through training.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
