Job Summary :
Perform inspections of injection molded and machined products for defects and deviations from specifications. Responsible for auditing materials / components received using GD&T, SPC and general use of measuring equipment and software. Oversees new product qualification (PPAP), interfaces with production workers, and maintains communication with Quality Manager. Adheres to all plant and OSHA safety policies and regulations.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
None.
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Identifies and properly dispositions products, materials, and equipment not meeting specifications.
- Analyzes and interprets drawings, data, manuals, and other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment and certification methods, formulas, and measuring instruments required.
- Notifies Supervisors, Team Lead or Quality Manager of production problems, and assist in identifying and correcting these problems.
- Discusses inspection results with those responsible for products
- Records inspection or test data, such as weights, temperatures, grades, or moisture content, and quantities inspected or graded.
- Marks items with details such as grade and acceptance or rejection status.
- Observes and monitors production operations and equipment to ensure conformance to specifications and make or order necessary process or assembly adjustments.
- Measures dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers or micrometers.
- Performs Incoming / Receiving Inspections and Final Inspections, as assigned.
- Responsible for entering scrap data by machine for each shift.
- Performs duties with little or no supervision.
- Other duties as assigned.
