What are the responsibilities and job description for the WATER PARK MAINTENANCE WORKER - PARKS AND RECREATION - SPIVEY SPLASH WATER PARK position at Clayton County Government?
PURPOSE OF CLASSIFICATION: This position is to work with other seasonal employees performing manual labor, maintenance, and repair work for the purpose of maintaining and repairing Spivey Splash Waterpark building and park areas.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties do not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Performs general grounds maintenance to include: raking, weed treating/pulling, sweeping, decluttering of turf and park walk way areas.
Performs garbage policing and control; cleaning of sidewalks, parking lots, building lobby, staff areas and policing for litter/debris in and around park areas, and perimeter areas inside and outside; cleaning and upkeep of all waterpark bathroom facilities. Also assists with preparing cabanas/canopy areas and buildings for functions, setting up chairs and tables to service the functions and ensuring clean up during the post function phase.
Maintains assigned tools and equipment used in grounds maintenance of Spivey Splash Waterpark; performs preventive maintenance and routine repair on tools and equipment as needed; ensures tools and supplies are properly cleaned, stored, and secured; maintains order in equipment storage areas; provides information, assistance and directions to the general public regarding Waterpark facilities.
Performs other related duties regarding the maintenance of the Waterpark grounds, facilities, equipment, and structures to ensure the facility is ready each day for the general public.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 16 years of age or older to apply. Must possess an original social security card and driver’s license or a government issued photo I.D. May be required to work up to 32 hours per week. Candidates under the age of 17 must provide two letters of reference from school officials (teachers, administrators, guidance counselors, etc.)
Requires good physical health. Must be comfortable working outside in summer conditions.
Must be available for work on weekends and holidays.

Task require the regular and sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work, typically involving some combinations of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling and that generally involves lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds.)
Sensory Requirements:
Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, odor, or depth. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
Environmental Factors: Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, fumes, rain, temperature or noise extremes, machinery vibrations, electric currents, traffic hazards, toxic agents, or pathogenic substances.
TENTATIVE SCHEDULE – SUBJECT TO CHANGE
Monday – Friday:
10:00am. - 2:30pm.
3:00pm. – 8:00pm.
Saturday, Sunday, Holidays:
9am. – 7:30pm.
