What are the responsibilities and job description for the SPLASH ATTRACTION ATTENDANT - PARKS AND RECREATION SPIVEY SPLASH WATER PARK position at Clayton County Government?
PURPOSE OF CLASSIFICATION:
To provide a safe and enjoyable experience to guests at both Lake Spivey Sky Trail (Ropes Course) and Spivey Splash Waterpark.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned. Ensure the highest level of safety in assigned areas through staff training and implementation of safety protocols. Conduct participant pre-loading checks for the Ropes Course as well as pre-loading assistance at water stations such as various attractions inside the water park area. Outfit participants with the necessary equipment, such as harnesses for the Ropes Course. Properly load and unload participants onto the Ropes Course and Water Slides as needed at the waterpark. Complete transactions securely and accurately, handling both cash and credit card purchases. Assist with inventory management for both attractions. Attend mandatory training sessions for both Ropes Course and relevant staff trainings such as In-service. Work weekends, holidays, and events as needed for both facilities. Maintain positive working relationships and communication with all Parks and Recreation staff. Support Clayton County Parks & Recreation Department’s Vision, Mission, and Values. Perform other related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must be 16 years of age or older.
2. Possess a valid Georgia driver’s license or a government-issued photo I.D.
3. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
4. Comfortable working in both outdoor and waterpark environments.
5. Ability to step into water from the side, (minimum depth of 3 feet) maintain position, and orient to the exit.
6. Ability to handle cash and credit card purchases accurately.
7. Previous climbing/high ropes course experience preferred.
8. Successful completion of relevant training sessions for the Ropes Course.
9. Must adhere to applicable dress code. 10. Available to work on weekends, holidays, and special events.
DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Successful completion of Ropes Courses, Incorporated (RCI) training session (Training will be provided by International Park after hire. Employment is contingent on successful completion of training courses and documented hours. MUST ADHERE TO APPLICABLE DRESS CODE.
ADA COMPLIANCE
Physical Ability:
Capabilities to bend, stoop, climb and stand for up to 8 hours at a time. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Ability to insert and remove the puck of the slider assembly into and out of the overhead track. Ability to wear an RCI approved harness. Comfortable working up to 30 feet above the ground.
Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, odor, depth, texture and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
Environmental Factors: Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, temperature or noise extremes, or traffic hazards.
SCHEDULE – SUBJECT TO CHANGE: Tuesday through Friday 11 am-7 pm, Saturday 10:00 am-8:00 pm, Sunday 12:00 pm-7:00 pm, and holidays.

- Complete timed events within 50 seconds without stopping, including walking or swimming 20 yards, submerging to a depth of 4 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object, returning to the surface and walking or swimming 20 yards to the starting point with both hands holding the object at the surface of the water, and exiting the water without using a ladder or steps.
- Deal courteously and firmly with the public, demonstrate good judgment, tact, and courtesy.
