Job Summary

Responsibilities
Stage and Screen Company Manager
Student, under the supervision of the director of the theatre, will be the liaison between Stage and Screen faculty and majors.
- Have strong and effective written and verbal communication skills
- Be able to articulate effectively, once trained, information about the Stage and Screen Program
- Have some availability between the hours of 8 am to 5 pm to speak to potential students. Some evenings and weekends may be required depending on events.
- Work closely with the PR/Marketing Manager to manage the work study team effectively.
- Must maintain a positive attitude and disposition in the work environment.
- Assist with training of work study team.
- Disseminating information from faculty to students.
- Filing and maintaining important documents relating to the program.
- Make copies as needed for departmental use.
- This is a hybrid position where the student may work off-site 1-3 days a week depending on the duties assigned for that week. Duties performed off-site include:
- Conduct virtual meetings with students and work study team.
- Distributing flyers and other marketing materials to schools and other organizations.
- Assisting with events at schools and other locations.
- Communicating with students, teachers, administrators, and other members of organizations regarding program events and activities.
- Student assignments will be determined weekly. Students must submit a work log and the time spent completing it. Supporting materials will be submitted, if applicable, to corroborate the work. Ex. Students may be assigned to go to classrooms to discuss our upcoming production. The supervisor (Shontelle Thrash) is aware of the classroom visits and is included in the follow-up with the teachers regarding the visits. Students will also submit the time spent and the description of the work logs.
PR Manager
Under the supervision of the Stage and Screen director, the PR Marketing Manager will be responsible for the program's overall PR and Marketing needs.
- Have strong and effective written and verbal communication skills
- Be able to articulate effectively, once trained, information about the Stage and Screen program
- Schedule meetings with the director of mainstage productions to discuss PR/marketing needs.
- Communicate with radio, tv, and other marketing outlets about upcoming events.
- Supervise marketing team to execute PR and marketing responsibilities
- Communicate with the company manager about any information needed to get to the majors.
- Explore and execute creative ideas when marketing events

Stage and Screen Program Recruiting Assistant
Student, under the supervision of the director of Stage and Screen, will assist in the recruiting of new students into the Stage and Screen program.
- Have strong and effective written and verbal communication skills
- Be able to articulate effectively, once trained, information about the program
- Have some availability between hours of 8 am to 5 pm to speak to potential students.
- Be willing to conduct workshops and/or talks with groups of students
- Collaborate with the work study team on additional duties as assigned.
- Must maintain a positive attitude and disposition in work environment.
- This is a hybrid position where the student may work off-site 1-3 days a week depending on the duties assigned for that week. Duties performed off-site include:
- Distributing flyers and other marketing materials to schools and other organizations.
- Assisting with events at schools and other locations.
- Communicating with students, teachers, administrators, and other members of organizations regarding program events and activities.
- Student assignments will be determined weekly. Students must submit a work log and the time spent completing it. Supporting materials will be submitted, if applicable, to corroborate the work. Ex. Stage and Screen Content Creator
Student, under the supervision of the director of Stage and Screen, will assist in the recruiting of new students into the Stage and Screen program.
- Proficient in MS Office
- Have strong and effective written and verbal communication skills
- Have a working knowledge of Premier Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator or other content creating software
- Understand and ideally have a working knowledge of media formats
- Organize and catalog all types of media and marketing materials.
- Have a working knowledge of editing software. (Adobe preferred, not required)
- Experience with filming and/or photography is desired but not required.
- Be willing to take on other media-related duties as needed.
- Has an eye for effective visual content.
- Must maintain a positive attitude and disposition in the work environment.
- This is a hybrid position where the student may work off-site 1-3 days a week depending on the duties assigned for that week. Duties performed off-site include:
- Filming footage of stage and screen events on and off campus for marketing and archival purposes.
- Capturing footage for videos that serve the program's needs.
- Student assignments will be determined weekly. Students must submit a work log and the time spent completing it. Supporting materials will be submitted, if applicable, to corroborate the work. Ex. Students may be assigned to go to classrooms to discuss our upcoming production. The supervisor (Shontelle Thrash) is aware of the classroom visits and is included in the follow-up with the teachers regarding the visits. Students will also submit the time spent and the description of the work logs.
Stage and Screen Technician
- Assist in the construction and management of Clayton State Stage and Screen productions which includes but is not limited to:
- Attention to safety and compliance with industry norms.
- Build scenery, costumes, and props.
- Set up and maintain lighting and sound equipment.
- Assist during special events.
- Maintain stage and screen spaces (including stage and screen classroom-studios)
Tasks and responsibilities vary based on the needs of each production or event. Technicians will work primarily in their area (scenery, costumes, etc.) but may be expected to assist the work study team with various event preparation. Training will be provided as needed to help technicians expand their skill set.
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- 1 year experience in area of expertise or have taken Stagecraft at Clayton State.
- Eligible for federal work study
- Stage and Screen, Film Production, Communication, or Music major
- This position will engage in production work for Clayton State Stage and Screen productions. Skills used might include carpentry, hand and machine sewing, painting, cleaning, organizing, stage management, electrics, props, dyeing, board operation, front of house/hospitality, and other creative work based on technician's skills.
- For any stage and screen production, student may assist in the following: light/sound board operation, costume/wardrobe setup, building and transition of set items, setup lighting and other technical equipment. Student would work in multiple capacities to satisfy the needs of our productions and events.
