Job Title: Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager
Overview
The EHS Manager will oversee and manage environmental, health, and safety programs. This position will also ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, promote safety initiatives, and create a culture of continuous improvement for workplace safety and environmental sustainability. The EHS Manager will be responsible for all Baytown facility and mobile work in conjunction with the Water Process/Environment Manager and the Safety Manager to support these responsibilities within their respective duties.
Pay Range: $58k - $70k annual salary paid bi-weekly
Employment Details

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage the company’s EHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections to ensure Baytown plant and mobile safety and environmental standards are met.
- Ensure the company adheres to all local, state, and federal environmental regulations and standards.
- Manage and perform all environmental regulatory reporting within STEERS and the USEPA.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies and maintain up-to-date knowledge of EHS legislation and best practices.
- Environmental health and safety (40CFR) regulatory compliance for the Baytown facility and all mobile work.
- Occupational worker health and safety (29CFR) regulatory compliance for Baytown and all mobile work.
Cross-functional work with the Safety Manager on:
- Monitor and evaluate workplace health and safety risks, and manage incident reporting, investigation, and documentation.
- Safety training sessions and workshops for employees at all levels, ensuring they understand EHS policies and safety practices.
- Emergency response drills and maintain emergency preparedness procedures.
- Employee training for both environmental health and safety and occupational worker health and safety.
- Occupational worker health and safety continuous improvement for the company’s entire safety program.
- Develop and maintain records for environmental compliance, safety training, and incident reporting.
- Analyze accident/incident data and prepare reports for management, proposing preventive measures.
Cross-functional work with Water Process/Environment Manager on:
- Hazardous material handling, waste disposal, and recycling programs in line with environmental policies.
- Environmental work systems’ continuous improvement for Baytown.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification in EHS management (e.g., Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), CHMM, ASP, or equivalent) is preferred.
- experience in EHS management in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state EHS regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT, etc.).
- First aid/CPR training
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Experience with EHS reporting software and systems.
- Ability to assess and mitigate risks and handle emergencies effectively.
- Refining and/or hydrocarbon production environment and work systems.
Experience
- Employee training to 40CFR and 29CFR.
- Internal and external audits for 40CFR and 29CFR.
- External client interactions (written, verbal, face-to-face).
- External consultant interactions (written, verbal, face-to-face).
- Focus on the top three tiers of the OSHA/USEPA hierarchy of controls (elimination, substitution, engineering controls) well above and before the lower three tiers (alarms, administrative controls, PPE).
