Lead Diesel Mechanic at Clean Harbors
As a Lead Diesel Mechanic, you will oversee shop operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and managing the maintenance of the company fleet. This role includes conducting inspections, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and performing preventative maintenance, while supervising other mechanics.

Job Description:
- Oversight of shop operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Management of the maintenance of the company fleet.
- Conducting inspections, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and performing preventative maintenance.
- Supervising other mechanics.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes.
- Performing preventative maintenance, conducting inspections, troubleshoots, diagnoses failures & deficiencies & performs necessary corrections.
- Completing daily checklist as required for proper operation of the unit being operated.
- Assuring unit has daily maintenance duties performed and communicates any problems or issues with the unit immediately upon discovery.
- Completing and submitting all associated paperwork as required for tracking PM schedules.
- Conducting Safety Checks & Annual Vehicle Inspections in accordance with provincial & federal laws.
- Assuring that Equipment is properly parked in compliance with facility permit and DOT requirements.
- Ensuring that work meets all applicable Health and Safety Standard Operating Procedures.
- Maintaining a clean work environment.
- Performing other assignments as assigned by management.
- Understanding Clean Compliance Standard.
Requirements:
- 5-7 years of diesel engine experience.
- Ability to work in team environment.
- Versed in all aspects e.g. electrical, computer, ECMs, fuel, air systems, ABS, hydraulic systems, engines etc.
- Demonstrates complete proficiency in diagnostic, repair, and maintenance of the following units: heavy duty forklift, roll off truck, forklifts, pick up trucks, box trucks, tractors, and tankers.
- Demonstrates complete proficiency in tooling and equipment diagnostic, repair, and maintenance.
- Ability to pass a background, drug, and physical test upon hire.
