Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate accounting and financial concepts. The Bookkeeper processes and maintains financial records for several affiliated companies. In collaboration with the Director of Finance, their duties include processing financial documents, performing accounting work, preparing ARs & APs, audit loan closings for accuracy and adjustments, and completing basic administrative tasks.
Bookkeeping responsibilities
Bookkeeper is responsible for several duties related to maintaining financial records, these responsibilities may include:
- Processing payments, invoices, income and receipts and entering data into accounting software or databases then filing hard copies
- Preparing financial statements showing business income and expenditure
- Paying vendor invoices and tracking bank account balances
- Verifying the accuracy of business accounts and alerting the Director of Finance of errors
- Assist Director of Finance with payroll entries and tracking as needed
- Recording any inconsistencies to help the Director of Finance reconcile inaccuracies
- Preparing monthly financial statements including cash flow, profit and loss and balance sheets
- Managing employee expense accounts
- Helping the Director of Finance with administrative duties and preparing yearly accounts
Loan closing responsibilities
- Audit every loan at closing and identify any adjustments
- Request adjustments to be made and verify accuracy
- Prepare Loan Analysis monthly report
- Review Processors Log for accuracy
- Support Director of Finance and VP of Operations as needed
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned
Skills
- Proficiency in corporate accounting principles and practices.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts, including debits, credits, budgeting, and tax regulations.
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar tools.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) for reporting and documentation purposes.
