The Construction Inventory Manager serves as the central coordinator for all company-owned construction equipment, building materials, and job-site inventory. This person will build and manage our equipment rental operation, and ensure that tools, machinery, and materials are tracked, organized, and efficiently distributed from our Ventura and Santa Barbara warehouses to various job sites. This individual will support our Project Managers by maintaining project-specific inventory,
This position also includes responsibility for logistics coordination. The individual will use our project management software to develop schedules and manage the delivery of equipment and materials in collaboration with our internal logistics team. Additionally, this role will oversee day-to-day operations and provide leadership and direction to the logistics team.
By keeping up-to-date records and streamlining inventory management, this role will directly contribute to improving operational efficiency, minimizing material loss, and ensuring project managers have the resources they need when they need them.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Track and manage inventory levels of materials across multiple job sites.
- Conduct regular audits of on-site materials to ensure accurate stock levels.
- Coordinate with project managers and field teams to forecast material needs.
- Order and restock materials as needed, ensuring timely delivery to job sites.
- Implement and manage inventory tracking software, such as Point of Rental and Procore.
- Develop processes for efficient material usage and minimize waste.
- Maintain records of inventory transactions, including receipts, billing, transfers, and returns.
- Troubleshoot inventory discrepancies and resolve supply chain issues.
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to manage material costs and availability.
- Provide inventory reports and insights to management for planning purposes.
- Manage point-of-sale transactions for equipment and machinery rented to production teams.
- Assist Project Managers with project-specific inventory management and organizational techniques.
- Manage Logistics team, including schedule, recruitment and performance management.
Qualification Requirements

- Proven experience in inventory management, preferably in the construction industry.
- Knowledge of construction materials, tools, and equipment.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and storage best practices.
- Strong proficiency with inventory software (Procore experience preferred) and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Tech-savvy with the ability to build out and streamline inventory tracking systems.
- Experience with barcoding systems or RFID tracking.
