Job Description
The Behavioral Health Co-responder Clinician plays a vital role in the Clear Creek Health Assistance Team, responding to mental and behavioral health-related calls to provide crisis de-escalation and on-scene risk assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to 911 calls to provide trauma-informed responses and identify problems requiring interventions such as mental health holds or safety planning
- Collaborate with on-scene personnel to advocate for clients' mental/behavioral health needs and determine the best call disposition
- Assess individuals' risk of harm to self or others and arrange necessary resources or transportation
- Enroll clients in Community Integrated Healthcare Services (CIHCS) for ongoing care and provide resource navigation in the days and weeks following client contact
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, or a closely related field from an accredited program
- Current licensure as an LCSW/LPC/LMFT/LAC or another appropriate licensure in Colorado
- Minimum two years of experience in crisis intervention and verbal de-escalation, working with individuals experiencing moderate to severe mental illness and/or substance use disorders
Working Environment: This role requires working flexible hours, including weekends, and occasionally operating a county vehicle in poor driving conditions. The work environment may involve exposure to loud noise, all types of weather and non-weather conditions, extreme temperatures, fumes, odors, dirt, and dust.
