This role ensures that Employee Relations (ER) principles and governance align with business objectives for designated business units/client groups. It requires a strong understanding of business operations and digital literacy to support data-driven decision-making, enhance functional resilience, and cultivate an exceptional people culture.
Additionally, this role contributes to developing and maintaining a best-in-class ER function, ensuring employee concerns are addressed promptly, fairly, and consistently while upholding company values and complying with all applicable laws.
Working closely with the ER Director and HR Business Partners (HRBP), this role helps deliver a unified OneHR approach, providing value-added services that support both the business and its employees.
- Act as a go-to expert for HR Partners and leaders, offering innovative solutions on Employee Relations (ER) issues, corrective actions, and performance management.
- Collaborate across different business units to conduct ER investigations, ensuring they follow best practices, guidelines, and key ER principles.
- Work closely with the ER team, HRBPs, Legal, and other key partners to lead fair and thorough investigations into complaints related to harassment, discrimination, retaliation, misconduct, and serious policy violations.
- Be the first point of contact for the PX team and HRBPs when it comes to managing and resolving ER-related matters.
- Partner with the ER Director to develop strategies that support the business and PX team, while proactively addressing trends that impact talent attraction, retention, and development.
- Analyze ER trends and provide recommendations to address challenges and improve business outcomes.
- Identify and implement digital tools to enhance the ER function, including case management systems, data analytics, and trend analysis to drive people-focused solutions.
- Use data, dashboards, and analytics to track progress, highlight trends, and support continuous improvement across Vertex goals.
Requirements:
- Solid ER experience in Pharma industry, supporting functions in Commercial, Research, Manufacturing, Med Affairs, Regulatory and International
- Typically requires a minimum of 7 years of experience in ER, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Human resources experience, including experience implementing HR strategies, expertise in the areas of employee experience, talent mobility, organizational effectiveness, management development and change management
