Job Responsibilities
The Licensed Practical Nurse will be responsible for providing general nursing care to patients, under the direction of a Registered Nurse and in accordance with physician's orders and established standards and protocols. Key responsibilities include:
- Implementing orders for medications and treatments as ordered by the physician and in accordance with nursing care plan as written by the Registered Nurse.
- Participating in evaluation of the effectiveness of interventions in relation to patient responses and seeking guidance in redirection when necessary.
- Assisting in identification of patient's learning needs and reinforcing self-care and other techniques.
- Reporting to supervisor on patient care rendered, problems concerning patients' needs, and resolution to those needs.
- Helping identify patient problems and potential risks and contributing to the development of interventions.
- Providing an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff.
Requirements
A minimum of 2 years' experience in inpatient hospital setting, inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred. Current state license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse required. Current CPR certification required.
