Job Description

We are seeking a strong work ethic Opthalmic Technician that is highly motivated to join our dynamic team. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative care to our patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care:
  • Greet and welcome patients in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Conduct thorough patient history and intake interviews.
  • Perform pre-operative and post-operative examinations, including visual acuity tests, refraction, and other diagnostic tests.
  • Administer eye drops and other medications as prescribed.
  • Educate patients on pre-operative and post-operative care instructions.
  • Answer patient questions and concerns in a clear and concise manner.
  • Clinical Support:
  • Assist in surgical procedures as needed.
  • Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Adhere to strict infection control and safety protocols.
  • Administrative Duties:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient flow.
  • Assist with billing and insurance verification, if needed.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification: Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) preferred or:
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ophthalmic or optometric setting.
  • Skills:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in using ophthalmic equipment and software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Motivated to work.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Compassionate
  • Technical Skills:
  • Knowledge of ophthalmic procedures and techniques.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment such as autorefractors, phoropters, and slit lamps.
  • Ability to perform accurate measurements and calculations.
