Job Description
We are seeking a strong work ethic Opthalmic Technician that is highly motivated to join our dynamic team. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative care to our patients.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Care:
- Greet and welcome patients in a friendly and professional manner.
- Conduct thorough patient history and intake interviews.
- Perform pre-operative and post-operative examinations, including visual acuity tests, refraction, and other diagnostic tests.
- Administer eye drops and other medications as prescribed.
- Educate patients on pre-operative and post-operative care instructions.
- Answer patient questions and concerns in a clear and concise manner.
- Clinical Support:
- Assist in surgical procedures as needed.
- Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to strict infection control and safety protocols.
- Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow.
- Assist with billing and insurance verification, if needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification: Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) preferred or:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ophthalmic or optometric setting.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in using ophthalmic equipment and software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

- Technical Skills:
