What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ophthalmic Technician position at Clearview Eye and Laser?
We are looking for a medical assistant to join our private practice in West Seattle. Our private ophthalmology practice has a family feel with lots of room for development and growth in your medical career. Core duties and responsibilities of the clinic includes the following:
- Recording patient health history and exam information within Medflow EMR system
- Measuring visual acuity, reading glasses, and performing refractions
- Taking IOP readings with iCare and dilating patients as ordered by physicians
- Performing tests such as visual fields, OCTs, Fundus Photos, Topography, and more.
- Taking LipiScans and performing LipiFlow treatments
- Scanning for IOL measurements and providing pre-operative instructions
- Managing Rx refills and responding to patient phone calls
- Consenting patients and assisting with minor surgical procedures
- Preparing specimens for laboratory analysis
- Setting up instruments and equipment according to procedure
- Maintaining and stocking exam/procedure rooms, instruments, and equipment
- Packaging and sterilizing instruments according to procedure
Job Requirements
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma required
- 1-2 years relevant work experience preferred but not necessary
Abilities and Skills:
- Proficient in the English language
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties efficiently
- Demonstration of compassion and caring in patient communications
- A professional and pleasant demeanor
- A team player with a "can do" attitude that enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
- Computer proficiency
