Director of Public Safety Partnerships & Program Support – Arizona Region
Location: Phoenix, Arizona (Remote with regular in-person meetings at partner agencies)
Position Summary:
Cleary University seeks a dynamic, mission-driven professional to serve in a hybrid role that combines academic support with strategic partnership development. This position will be the primary point of contact (POC) for Cleary University’s partnership with the Phoenix Police Department and surrounding Arizona public safety agencies, supporting both the recruitment and retention of public safety professionals and offering the opportunity to contribute to academic programming and instruction within the University’s BBA programs.
The ideal candidate will be a passionate relationship-builder and experienced higher education professional who understands the needs of working law enforcement professionals. This individual will serve as a liaison between Cleary University and Arizona-based police departments, while also acting as a trusted academic and enrollment advisor to public safety students throughout their educational journey—from inquiry through graduation.
Key Responsibilities:
Partnership Development & Outreach:
- Serve as the lead university representative to the Phoenix Police Department and surrounding law enforcement agencies.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with public safety leaders to drive enrollment and promote Cleary’s programs.
- Host regular meetings and info sessions at partner agencies, acting as the face of Cleary University in Arizona.
- Promote Cleary’s programs through co-branded materials, agency communications, and departmental presentations.
- Partner with the marketing and enrollment teams to develop and execute outreach campaigns tailored to public safety professionals.
Student Support & Engagement:
- Act as the main point of contact for current and prospective Arizona-based public safety students.
- Provide personalized support from inquiry through enrollment, orientation, and academic success.
- Hold office hours to coach students on academic planning, course selection, and navigating university resources.
- Support student success by facilitating connections with university departments and ensuring a seamless student experience.
Supporting in an Academic Manner:
- May have the opportunity to teach undergraduate courses in Cleary’s Bachelor of Business Administration program.
- Support instructional quality by contributing to academic planning and sharing insights from public safety experiences to inform course content and program development.
- Collaborate with faculty and academic leadership to ensure course content remains relevant and aligned with student needs.
- Engage with academic teams to support curricular alignment, student preparedness, and the delivery of a high-quality learning experience.
Strategic Alignment & Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
- Work in collaboration with the Senior Vice President of Enrollment Management, Director of Enrollment Management – Public Safety Program, and academic leadership to align outreach and program goals.
- Assist in the development and implementation of internal processes and workflows to ensure operational efficiency within the Arizona Public Safety Program.
- Provide feedback from partner departments to inform program development and student support initiatives.
- Analyze partnership performance and recommend adjustments to improve recruitment, engagement, and retention outcomes.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in communications, leadership, management, or a related field (required).
- At least 3 years of experience working in or with public safety agencies (law enforcement, fire, EMS, corrections).
- 1–3 years of experience teaching (online or in-person); experience with public safety students preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain institutional partnerships and engage community stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using learning management systems (Canvas), Zoom, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience living or working in Arizona and/or working knowledge of the Phoenix Police Department.
- Deep understanding of the academic, professional, and personal needs of adult learners in public safety.
