Job Title: Bakery Production Support

Job Summary and Roles: We are seeking an experienced and reliable production person to assist with our midday bakery tasks like mixing, shaping, and proofing bagels and bialys while also supporting with the following: treat and other dough production, r&d, and other back of house prep that ties into our sandwich prep needs. This is a hands-on position that ensures we have excellent product for the days ahead.

We believe this could be an excellent opportunity for an ~experienced~ dough wrangler to step into a more '9 to 5-oriented' schedule. We have more treats and yeasted doughs we'd like to be getting into and see this role as a bridge to expanding our product set as we gear up for a busier season at the shop.

Compensation & Perks:  $15/hr tips, PTO, Shift Meal Stipend, Monthly Stipend, 30 Minute Paid Breaks. Starting wage may increase depending on experience and performance.

Position Type: Full Time, ~38-40 hours a week; 9-4 M/T, 9-5 W-F; Some weekend availability may be necessary as the 

Basic Responsibilities Include:

• Punctuality! We expect all staff to be here on time and ready to work.
• Following recipes and properly measuring/weighing ingredients
• Mixing dough w/ an eye on time and mixer settings, understanding other variables (environmental or otherwise) that impact our dough builds
• Hand shaping bagels and bialys according to our methods
• Multi tasking and being able to manage the production timeline w/ the product and teammates in mind
• Excellent communication w/ all members of the team and management
• Able to lift 50 lbs
• Properly rotate and manage our inventory
• Additional preparation: Assist in food preparation tasks, including chopping, slicing, portioning ingredients, and more.

Further Responsibilities May Include:

• Teamwork: Work closely with kitchen staff to support a smooth and efficient operation. This includes communicating well with all members of staff and ownership, and being able to respond to the needs of the business quickly and collaboratively.
• Sandwich Making and Expo: Support on sandwich station includes making sandwiches to spec and helping to ensure orders are bagged and handed off to the correct customer.
• General Prep: Prepare ingredients, components, and complete dishes we serve.
• Adherence to Health and Safety Standards: Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
• Cleaning and Sanitizing: Maintain a clean and organized back-of-house area, including work surfaces, equipment, and storage areas.
• Dishwashing: Ensure all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are cleaned and sanitized promptly. We provide gloves and a waterproof apron. We have a dedicated dishwasher but there may be times where you'll need to do some dishes.
• Other Duties as Assigned: Pitch in with other kitchen tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a similar back-of-house role is required.
• Excellent time management. An ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Weekend availability for coverage needs is preferred though this shift is M-F
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items as needed.
