What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deputy Clerk position at Clerk of Courts?
Responsibilities:
- Assist with clerical tasks such as typing, data entry and record keeping
- Provide customer service to customers by telephone, e-mail and in person
- Process/assess payments
- Prepare and distribute documents and correspondence
- Record Maintenance; Public and confidential or highly sensitive information
- Collaborate with other department team members to ensure efficient operations
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent - Able to pass a drug screening
- Strong clerical, organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Prepare and compose various documents and correspondences.
- Proficient typist (35 cwpm), experienced in various computer software, and comfortable with computers and all office equipment
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling cash transactions
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information - Ability to speak, read, write and comprehend the English language (Bi-lingual is a plus) - Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time - Ability to reach, lean, push, pull and lift (up to 20 lbs.)
