YOUTH SPECIALIST / JUVENILE CORRECTIONAL OFFICER FEMALE Clermont County Juvenile Detention Application Due By : Until position is filled Status : Full-Time, Unclassified (employee serves at the pleasure of the appointing authority) 80 hours / bi-weekly 12 hour shifts, night shift, days vary, every other weekend off FLSA Status : Non-Exempt (eligible for overtime) Pay : $21.00 / hr Probationary Period : Clermont County Juvenile Court uses a 180 day training time frame for new employees. This time frame supports our adherence to the at-will nature of your employment with Clermont County Juvenile Probation. JOB OVERVIEW : Provide security to incarcerated juvenile delinquents who are either charged or sentenced for a crime; oversee the juvenile correctional facility, maintaining order, and ensuring the well-being and safety of the inmates. ESSENTIAL DUTIES :
- Process admission and release of juveniles
- Perform necessary searches, checking property and completing paperwork
- Provide first aid and administer medications according to prescribed time and dosage
- Provide adjustment and crisis counseling to juveniles
- Escort juveniles to designated activities and court hearings
- Lead recreational activities
- Discipline juveniles and recommend or initiate other measures to control behavior
- Instruct juveniles regarding desirable health and personal hygiene habits
- Perform housekeeping duties
- Ensure the safety and security of the juveniles' daily activities and special incidents
