Cleveland Brothers, the largest Cat® dealer in Pennsylvania, northern West Virginia and western Maryland, has an immediate opportunity for a Rental Power Systems Operations Manager.
Position Summary :
In accordance with management directives this position oversees the daily operational activities and supervises all power systems rental service operations of multiple company branches. The incumbent in this position will work with all power system service supervisors at their respective branches to model the following practices daily :
- Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values
- Collaborate with service staff to provide excellent customer service
- Monitor equipment maintenance and repair costs
- Improve shop staff productivity
- Develop Processes and Procedures to improve service-related metrics for the rental department
The primary market segments supported by the operations manager will be; large commercial, industrial, oil and gas, waste water, educational, healthcare, landfill, and aggregate among others.
Primary Responsibilities :
This position mandates that the employee be able to perform all the following functions for all branches with power systems rental :
Manage and oversee all of the Cleveland Brothers Power Systems Rental Operations, the supervision of power systems service supervisors monitoring day-to-day operation of all service activities and related personnelAnalyze and plan activities to meet customer needs and maintain cost efficienciesInterface with service supervisors to assist and resolve customer related conflicts (billing, equipment repairs, warranty, etc.)Travel to all Cleveland Brothers branches with power systems rental operations as needed, visit customer job sites, meet with customers and evaluate equipment needs as requiredAssist as required with rental salespeople and service staff evaluating repair appraisals and the timing of repairsReview internal and external matters involving operations and expensesPrepare and submit documents and reports related to department activitiesMonitor the repair process with service supervisors for productivity, quality, and timeliness of repairsCommunicate with manufacturer's representatives and maintain supplier relationsWork with service supervisors and assist in the development and maintenance of a technician career development planAnalyze and resolve regional or branch specific power systems conflictsPerform other functions as assignedThis position may perform any combination of the following duties :
Travel and support all power systems rental service operations (Clarksburg, Erie, Manada Hill, Milesburg, New Stanton, and Wilkes-Barre)Provide coaching, mentoring, and direction of branch power systems product support service supervisorsDirect or support all operational aspects of business activity at all branches with power systems rental operationsInteract with the sales force to support their rental and sales activities via inspections, appraisals, startup quotes, and estimates for repair servicesAssess employee performance and provide guidanceFoster good union-management relationsAssist the service supervisors with internal and external customers on a daily basis concerning pricing and scheduling of machine repairs or service, technical information, warranty contracts, equipment transportation needs, and other issuesAssist service supervisors with equipment down time concerns, scheduling of repairs(field and shop) that are most convenient to the customerPrepare reports using approved computer softwareOperate basic office equipmentPerform other work related duties as assignedSkills / Knowledge / Qualifications :
Comprehensive experience with electrical and mechanical repair proceduresPosition requires an understanding of power, compressed air and HVAC rental equipment and product support of the equipmentMust possess excellent verbal and written communication in order to motivate, organize, and supervise personnel involved in providing customer support servicesMust be able to handle multiple tasks and requests from numerous sources, balancing conflicting prioritiesHigh energy level, excellent organizational, time management and negotiating skillsWorking knowledge of PC based computer software programsA working knowledge of computer applications in a Windows based environment is essentialTRAVEL REQUIREMENT
Overnight travel between 20-25% within to other Power Systems Rental branches. Moderate out of town travel as necessary to attend Caterpillar and Allied vendor training meetings.
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, General Management, or related field and / or Five to Ten years of relevant rental equipment product support management experience.
